Buffalo Bayou & Lower White Oak Bayou Federal Flood Damage Reduction and Ecosystem Restoration Study

Study Status

Current Phase of the Study
The study is in its second year and nearing the completion of its first phase, Analyzing Current Conditions. Before the conclusion of the phase, the District conducted a public scoping meeting on November 7 and 13, 2007 to raise awareness of the study and collect public comments related to the study. Public comments in this phase are important and will assist with the identification of components in the second phase.

The second phase of the study, Formulate, Evaluate and Select a Plan, will last approximately 24 to 48 months and should begin First Quarter 2008. Overall, the study is expected to last about seven years.

In all phases of the study process, the District communicates updates to the public on the study progress. This may be done via e-updates, as well as on this website.
