February 05, 2004
Congressman Chris Bell presented Harris County, Harris County Flood Control District and the City of Houston with a $53 million "Flood Dollars" check to represent monies appropriated by the United States Congress to continue work on, among other things, Harris County Flood Control District and Corps of Engineers projects in his Congressional District.

The projects related to the HCFCD are the Sims Bayou Federal Project, which received an appropriation of $12 million, and Project Brays, which received an appropriation of $6 million.
