Slope Repair Project Continues on Boggy Bayou Tributary

February 1, 2007
The Harris County Flood Control District is making repairs to a Boggy Bayou tributary in Pasadena. The $165,000 maintenance project is repairing eroded side slopes of the channel from Beltway 8 just south of Greenshadow, downstream into Deer Park, just west of Georgia. Soils in Harris County are particularly vulnerable to erosion because of their soft, sandy nature. Repairing eroded side slopes reduces the amount of sediment that falls into a channel and helps maintain the channel's carrying capacity. The project began in November and should be completed in about six weeks, weather permitting.
