May 2005 Update
Phase II Excavation Project Long Creek Drive to Arncliffe Drive
Utility work in the Phase II project area has been completed by CenterPoint Electric, CenterPoint Gas and TimeWarner Cable. SBC is anticipated to complete their work by June 5, 2005.
On May 24, Harris County Commissioners Court accepted the bonds and authorized the execution of the contract between HCFCD and Hard Rock Construction for the Phase II Excavation Project.
The preconstruction meeting was held this morning. Pending the completion of SBCs utility work, construction on the Phase II Excavation Project will commence around June 20.
Utility Adjustment Work
As noted above, utility work on the Phase II Excavation Project is nearly complete.
For the Ultimate Channel Conveyance Improvement Project, HCFCD is still waiting for utility adjustment proposals from the utility companies.
Right-of-Way
The Harris County Right of Way Division is in the process of acquiring 16 tracts in which partial property is needed for the Vogel Creek project, including eight tracts located within the Inwood Forest Golf Course.
To date, four of the eight tracts located outside of the Inwood Forest Golf Course have been purchased, and one is in the condemnation process.
The Environmental Permit
As mentioned at the April 26 HOA/Civic Club Presidents meeting, HCFCD has received the environmental permit from the US Army Corps of Engineers for the Ultimate Channel Conveyance Improvement Project.
Communication with Residents
Residents in the Phase II Excavation Project area have been notified of upcoming construction via a post card notice.
