September 28, 2021 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized an agreement for engineering services to provide a planning study of the upper South Mayde Creek area in support of this project.

June 8, 2021 –Harris County Commissioners Court authorized and initiated this project.

June 29, 2021 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized negotiations to conduct a planning study in support of this project.

August 11, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court approved $110,696 for the City of Houston and the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas as a cost share for this project.

June 9, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized the Flood Control District to negotiate agreements with the Texas Department of Transportation and Metropolitan Transit Authority for collaborative efforts in support of this project.

Project description

This feasibility study will identify the existing causes of flooding and solutions to reduce the risk of flooding in Addicks Reservoir and tributaries in the area bordered by FM 529 to the north, SH 99 to the east, Katy-Hockley to the west and Morton Road to the south. This project is part of Bond Project Z-03, which includes various planning efforts in multiple watersheds or across Harris County.
