CI-023 B104-00-00 Horsepen Bayou and Tributaries Channel Improvements

Project Description

This project involves approximately 6 miles of channel conveyance improvements along Horsepen Bayou, HCFCD Unit B104-00-00, and its tributaries in the Armand Bayou watershed.  The project also will consider channel improvements to tributaries B104-04-00, B204-04-00 and B104-08-00.

LOCATION

The project involves a six-mile portion of Horsepen Bayou between Bay Area Boulevard and Ellington Field, in southeast Harris County.

 

Project Stage

This project is currently in the PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING stage. This stage of the project will involve the analysis of the hydrology and channel hydraulics in the study area and will result in a Preliminary Engineering Report with a recommended project that can be taken to Harris County Commissioners Court for approval and then advanced to the DESIGN stage. The PER will identify needed right-of-way acquisition, utility relocation and a preliminary cost estimate.

BOND PROJECT LISTING

Total allocation for this multi-stage project is currently $6 million on the Bond Project List. The project will be funded totally from the 2018 Bond Program as a “Local Only” project.
