June 30, 2020 - Harris County Commissioners Court authorized the Flood Control District to negotiate agreements with Harris County Water Control and Improvement District No. 50 in the amount of $4,750,000 for a drainage improvement project for collaborative efforts in support of this project.

November 12, 2019 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized negotiations with various political jurisdictions for agreements in support of collaborative efforts to implement the Clear Creek Federal Flood Risk Management Project and Clear Creek watershed bond projects.

November 13, 2018 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized negotiations with the City of Shoreacres in support of this project.

October 23, 2018 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized and initiated this project.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION 

Restoration of channel conveyance capacity on Clear Creek Tributary A104-00-00 (also known as Taylor’s Bayou). Taylor’s Bayou begins in Clear Creek at Nasa Road 1 and flows through Taylor Lake into Shoreacres beginning at State Highway 146. It then turns east, flowing between West Bayou Drive and East Bayou Drive, ending just south of Wharton Weems Boulevard at Powell Road in La Porte.

Every flood damage reduction project is unique. Yet each project begins and ends, with common and predictable milestones along the way. Whether a project moves forward – and how quickly – depends on many factors, including the availability of funding at each milestone, shifting community priorities for flood damage reduction, and other changing circumstances (such as the price of trees or concrete) from year to year.
