C-25 HALLS BAYOU TRIBUTARY P118-21-00 and Related Stormwater Detention

RECENT ACTION: November 13, 2018 – Harris County Commissioners Court approved a $604,471 contract with an engineering firm for preliminary engineering of this project

Project Description

This project involves several components to improve the conveyance of stormwater and to reduce flooding risks in this area:

  • Excavation of unnamed Stormwater Detention Basins, HCFCD Units P518-11-00 and P518-21-00
  • And related channel conveyance improvements to Tributary P118-21-00

Stormwater detention basins reduce flooding risks and damages during heavy rain events by safely storing excess stormwater and slowly releasing it back to the bayou when the threat of flooding has passed.

Location

This project will be located along Tributary P118-21-00, from Halls Bayou to just north of Aldine Mail Route Road.

Project Stage

This project is currently in the PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING stage. This stage of the project will result in a recommended project, then advanced to the DESIGN stage.
