RECENT ACTION: November 13, 2018 – Harris County Commissioners Court approved a $900,000 agreement with an engineering firm to conduct preliminary engineering in support of this project
C-28 and C-29 P118-25-00 and P118-25-01
Flood risk reduction project within the drainage areas of Tributary P118-25-00 and Sub-Tributary P118-25-01
Project Description
The goal of this project is to reduce flooding risks by improving the capacity of Halls Bayou Tributary P118-25-00 and Sub-Tributary P118-25-01 to convey stormwater during rain events.
Project StaGE
This project is currently undergoing an Alternatives Analysis as part of the PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING stage. This stage of the project will result in a Preliminary Engineering Report with a recommended project that can be taken to Harris County Commissioners Court for approval and then advanced to the DESIGN stage. The PER may identify needed right-of-way acquisition, utility relocation and a preliminary cost estimate.

LOCATION
Tributary P118-25-00 is located just upstream (west) of Hardy Toll Road with an approximate length of 0.7 miles and a drainage area of 100 acres. The modeled channel terminates at Aldine Mail Route Road but continues north as a simple roadside ditch. Sub-tributary P118-25-01 intersects P118-25-00 about 1,200 feet south of Aldine Mail Route Road.
BOND PROJECT LISTING
Bond Projects C-28 and C-29 are potential future Partnership projects with the City of Houston and Harris County.
- The total allocation for all stages of the C-28 P118-25-00 project is currently $18 million on the Bond Project List, of which approximately $16.2 million would be partnership funding, if granted, and $1.8 million would be local costs.
- The total allocation for all stages of the C-29 P118-25-01 project is currently $6 million on the Bond Project List, of which approximately $5.4 million would be partnership funding, if granted, and $600,000 would be local costs.
