June 29, 2021 – Harris County Commissioners Court approved an amendment to the Joint Funding Structure for drainage improvements at Anderson Road and C144-00-00.

February 26, 2021 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized the Flood Control District to negotiate an agreement for engineering services in support of this project.

June 6, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court approved $150,000 for engineering services for this project.

April 7, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized negotiations for engineering services for a drainage feasibility study in support of this project.

September 24, 2019 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized and initiated this project.

Project Description

The F-95 Tributary C144-00-00 Conveyance Improvements project seeks to reduce flood risks to the neighborhoods adjacent to C144-00-00, a tributary of Sims Bayou, between Fuqua St and Beltway 8. A feasibility study completed in 2020 analyzed flooding occurring near C144-00-00 and recommended the following improvements for Preliminary Engineering to reduce flooding risks:

  • Design and construct an additional culvert in conjunction with the Harris County Engineering Department
  • Determine required mitigating detention volume downstream of Anderson Road
  • Determine right-of-way needs
  • Design and construct a detention basin
  • Establishment of turf and landscaping

The Harris County Flood Control District held a Community Engagement Meeting for the Tributary C144-00-00 Conveyance Improvements project in the Sims Bayou watershed.
