Project Description

Located in upper Greens Bayou, the Flood Control District is currently excavating the fifth compartment of the Cutten Stormwater Detention Basin, which spans 235 acres near Cutten Road and State Highway 249. The first four compartments are located across from the expansion property, south of Greens Bayou. Once the expansion of the stormwater is complete, the capacity of the stormwater detention basin will double from holding almost 221 million gallons (compartments 1-4), to almost 503 million gallons total. Compartment five, under construction, is expected to hold 282 million gallons of stormwater.

Location

The original footprint of the stormwater detention basin is located south of Greens Bayou and the fifth compartment is located north of Greens Bayou, near Cutten Road and State Highway 249.

Stage

This project is in the CONSTRUCTION stage and is expected to be complete in summer 2022.

Bond Project Listing

Total allocation for all future stages and phases of Bond Project C-33 on the Bond Project List is currently $15.1 million.
