March 30, 2021 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized a $500,000 agreement with an engineering firm to update the Flood Control District’s current property management system by developing a comprehensive asset management program for Flood Control District infrastructure and drainage features. This will include an asset inventory, condition assessment and comprehensive maintenance lifecycle program.

Property Management Program

The Property Management Program is responsible for the management of all District real property. The group's primary responsibilities are to identify deficiencies of the District’s channel and detention basin infrastructure, to define the scope of operations to be performed, and to prioritize repairs and cyclical maintenance within the available budget. This task requires the Property Management team, to analyze a massive drainage network in Harris County that encompasses 43,700 acres or approximately 68 square miles of right of way.
