Project Description
This project involves improvements to Sims Bayou Tributary C116-00-00
to reduce flooding risks to nearby neighborhoods. The project will increase the
capacity of the enclosed Sims Bayou tributary C116-00-00 system with a parallel
trunkline.
Completed in 2021, this project’s feasibility study analyzed the
flood risks within the drainage study area, investigated the capacity of the
main storm sewer trunk line, and located workable alternatives to reduce
flooding. In addition, property rights along the trunk line, appropriate
maintenance jurisdiction for the system, and existing encroachment issues were
identified.
The project is currently in the preliminary engineering stage.
