Project Description

This project investigated flooding occurring at and near C116-00-00, a tributary of Sims Bayou, and recommended improvements to reduce flooding risks. The project’s feasibility study stage analyzed the flood risks within the drainage study area, investigated the capacity of the main storm sewer trunk line, and located workable alternatives to reduce flooding. In addition, property rights along the trunk line, appropriate maintenance jurisdiction for the system, and existing encroachment issues were also identified. Next, the project is continuing to the preliminary engineering stage.

The Harris County Flood Control District has a significant number of flood damage reduction projects occurring all over Harris County as part of its on-going Capital Improvement Program (CIP), Operations and Maintenance, and the 2018 Bond Program. The map will be updated when projects advance or when more information becomes available.
