PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Lower Greens Bayou Stormwater Detention Basin, HCFCD Unit P500-01-00, embankment and control structure improvements.

This project will design and build the Lower Greens Bayou Stormwater Detention Basin, HCFCD Unit P500-01-00.

Stormwater detention basins reduce flooding risks and damages during heavy rain events by safely storing excess stormwater and slowly releasing it back to the bayou when the threat of flooding has passed.

The Harris County Flood Control District has a significant number of flood damage reduction projects occurring all over Harris County as part of its on-going Capital Improvement Program (CIP), Operations and Maintenance, and the 2018 Bond Program. The map will be updated when projects advance or when more information becomes available.
