About this Project
The Hughes Stormwater Detention Basin is Phase 2 of the Clear Creek Federal Flood Risk Management Project and is designed to provide approximately 1,000 acre-feet of stormwater storage capacity — that is roughly the equivalent of 1,000 football fields covered in one foot of water.

This stormwater detention basin will help reduce the risk of flooding and mitigate future channel conveyance improvements that are part of the Clear Creek Federal Project by temporarily storing stormwater during heavy rain events.
