Clear Creek Watershed Projects will Reduce Flooding Risks in South Harris County Neighborhoods

The Harris County Flood Control District has begun construction to complete two 2018 Bond Program-funded stormwater detention basins in the Clear Creek watershed of south Harris County that together will provide safe storage for more than 566 million gallons of excess stormwater.

CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN ON LAWNDALE STREET AND TELEPHONE ROAD BRIDGES OVER BRAYS BAYOU

The Harris County Flood Control District is scheduled to begin construction on April 16 on the replacement of the Lawndale Street and Telephone Road bridges over Brays Bayou with higher, longer, and wider bridges to reduce the risk of flooding in the area.

FLOOD CONTROL DISTRICT MONITORING THE THREAT OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AND HEAVY RAINFALL

Storms will potentially bring hail, damaging winds and heavy rainfall. The Harris County Flood Control District (HCFCD) is tracking and monitoring an unstable air mass over southeast Texas, which is expected to bring high winds, hail and heavy rainfall possibly resulting in street flooding and rises in area creeks and bayous.
