Chimney Rock Rd Bridge

What is being done to the Chimney Rock Rd Bridge?

The current bridges will be demolished and replaced with higher, longer, and wider bridges. This will increase the channel's capacity, allowing for more flood waters to flow throughout Brays Bayou. The plan is for segments of the bridges to remain open to commuter and pedestrian traffic during the construction period, with temporary lane closures to the North and Southbound lanes as the bridges are being reconstructed. Construction began Winter 2020/2021 and is scheduled to last approximately one year.

Construction Updates

Construction on the Chimney Rock Rd bridge began in Winter 2020/2021 and is anticipated to be completed in Fall 2021. The bridge project will cost approximately $10,300,000.
