Project Description

This feasibility study evaluated the level of service for Tributaries P138-01-00 and P138-01-01 and the impact from Tributary P100-00-00 backwater on nearby flooded single-family homes. The feasibility study then identified and evaluated potential flood risk reduction projects for the area.

The feasibility study recommended channel conveyance improvements through a concrete-lined channel for both tributaries. To mitigate the increased stormwater flows that will come from the channel conveyance improvements, this project utilizes storage volume from the Lauder Stormwater Detention Basin to hold the increased flows.

Location

These two Greens Bayou watershed tributaries, Tributaries P138-01-00 and P138-01-01, are located primarily west of JFK Boulevard and between Lauder Road and Aldine Mail Route Road.

Stage

As of December 2021, this project is nearing completion of the FEASIBILITY STUDY stage.
