January 5, 2021 - Harris County Commissioners Court authorized the acquisition of seven tracts of land in Precinct 4 in support of this project.

October 13, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court approved the purchase of seventeen tracts of land in Precinct 2 in support of this project.

October 13, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized the acquisition of a tract of land in the amount of $3,870,000 for the countywide general acquisition for floodplain preservation.

September 15, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court approved the purchase of two tracts of land in Precinct 1 in support of this project.

July 28, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized two tracts for the county-wide general acquisition in Precinct 1 for this project.

April 7, 2020 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized to purchase one tract of land in support of this project.

September 10, 2019 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized negotiations with the Houston Parks Board to acquire a tract in the White Oak Bayou watershed for joint use as floodplain preservation, park land or open space 

April 30, 2019 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized and initiated this project under the Z-01 Bond Map ID Number, and transferred ongoing county-wide general acquisition projects to this bond-funded project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project involves right-of-way acquisition along various channels in Harris County in support of Flood Control District projects and to preserve channel stormwater conveyance and / or to restore natural floodplains in areas subject to frequent flooding.
