F-110 Huffman area drainage analysis

Project Description

This project consists of an engineering investigation into the sources of flooding in and around the Huffman area and will identify preliminary options to reduce flooding. Preliminary recommendations will be generated based on the analysis.

  • Luce Bayou (S100-00-00) and several tributaries are being analyzed to obtain an understanding of flooding inundation and risks
  • East Fork San Jacinto (G103-00-00) is being evaluated to estimate the volume of sediment in the channel by comparing the 2001 data to 2018 available digital terrain data
  • Cedar Bayou (Q100-00-00) and its tributaries were recently studied by HCFCD, and the information within this drainage analysis area will be incorporated into the current project analysis

Location

The Huffman drainage analysis area is an area that roughly coincides with the Huffman Independent School District boundary.

This area drains to the San Jacinto River, Luce Bayou and Cedar Bayou watersheds and consists of to the main stem of these waterways and some of the tributaries within the study area.
