PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project was designed and is being constructed in a partnership between Harris County and Harris County Water Control and Improvement District Number 50 (WCID 50). Project ID A100-00-00-HC003 aims to reduce the risk of structural flooding and street ponding within the jurisdiction of WCID 50, which encompasses and serves all or part of three municipalities: El Lago, Taylor Lake Village, and Seabrook. Bond Project Z-02 will improve WCID 50’s drainage system by strategically replacing existing storm sewer pipes with larger diameter/capacity pipes and redirecting drainage from overutilized/at-capacity drainage lines to underutilized/below-capacity lines. The project also includes reconstruction of three of WCID 50’s ten drainage outfalls.

Location

Drainage infrastructure improvements are within the Clear Creek watershed and entirely within the jurisdiction of WCID 50. The project is bounded by NASA 1 Road to the south, Crestwood Drive to the north, Cedar Lane to the east, and Taylor's Bayou (A104-00-00) to the west

Stage

This project began the CONSTRUCTION stage in the Fall of 2021 and is currently in progress. It is anticipated that it will be completed during the Fall/Winter of 2023.
