Recent Actions

January 10, 2023 – Harris County Commissioners Court authorized the Flood Control District to accept a $5,778,899 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, with a required match of $1,926,299.

November 10, 2020 - Harris County Commissioners approved an additional $33,940 for design and construction stage engineering services in support of this project.

May 19, 2020 - Harris County Commissioners Court approved new Bond ID added to the 2018 Bond Program List.

January 28, 2020 - Harris County Commissioners Court approved a $154,193 agreement with an engineering firm for design and construction phase engineering services in support of this project.

December 17, 2019 - Harris County Commissioners Court authorized and initiated the planning, design and construction of the City of Houston partnership project for the Meyergrove Stormwater Detention Basin, and recommended that it be officially designated as D500-11-00 for identification purposes.

Project Description

This project is for the design and construction of the Meyergrove Stormwater Detention Basin (D500-11-00), which is located just inside Loop 610 between Brays Bayou and North Braeswood Boulevard, as well as a second, smaller basin (D500-12-00) in the median of South Braeswood Boulevard between the railroad crossing and Linkwood Drive. Both basins together make up the D500-11-00-E001 project and the two basins are expected to provide a combined 94 acre-feet of stormwater storage.

Virtual Public Meeting

The Harris County Flood Control District held a community engagement meeting for Z-02 Meyergrove Stormwater Detention Basin Project. The purpose of this meeting is to inform residents about the project’s status, share project information and gather important community input on this effort.
