Project Description
In spring 2022, the Flood Control District will begin construction on a maintenance project in your area. This project will address 189 repair sites along a 10.6-mile section of the channel from the mouth of White Oak Bayou upstream to Cole Creek.

The repair project will be divided into four (4) sections:

  1. Hogg Park to Heights Boulevard
  2. Heights Boulevard to W. TC Jester just north of W. 11th Street
  3. W. TC Jester just north of W. 11th Street to W. 34th Street
  4. W.34th Street to Cole Creek just south of W. Tidwell

Heavy machinery is expected to be entering and exiting the repair sites during construction. Therefore, recreational trails will be closed along sections of the channel as necessary for the safety of the public and the contractors. Motorists are urged to be alert to truck traffic when passing near construction access points and along truck routes. The Flood Control District appreciates your patience through the duration of this project.
