HCFCD Project ID K500-23-00-E002 and Unit ID K500-27-00

In an effort to keep you informed about upcoming activity in the Cypress Creek watershed, we are sharing updates on the T.C. Jester and Westador Stormwater Detention Basins, which are both included in an application for CDBG-MIT program funding.

As part of the overall Cypress Creek Implementation Program, the Harris County Flood Control District is exploring two projects in the Cypress Creek watershed: the T.C. Jester Stormwater Detention Basin and the Westador Stormwater Detention Basin. Both projects are included in an upcoming application for CDBG-MIT program funding. While these projects are in the early stages, their purpose is to construct stormwater detention basins along the main stem of Cypress Creek, which will work to reduce flooding risks and damages during heavy rain events.

As part of the application process, the Flood Control District invites you to participate in a virtual information session on Tuesday, September 22 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.Please visit PublicInput.com/CypressCreekBasins to learn more and register for the session. The session will be hosted in English. Requests for interpreters or other communications needs should be made at least 48 hours in advance by calling 346-286-4152.
