Construction Activities on Phase 2 of the Meyergrove Stormwater Detention Basin Project Begin Soon!

Construction activities include contractor mobilization, initial site preparation, and other related work. Construction crews will access the site at North Braeswood Boulevard near Frankway Drive.

About this Project
Phase 2 of the Meyergrove Stormwater Detention Basin Project adds a second wet-bottom compartment that is designed to provide approximately 8 acre-feet of additional stormwater storage capacity — that is roughly the equivalent of eight football fields covered in one foot of water. A stormwater detention basin temporarily holds stormwater during heavy rain events to help reduce the risk of flooding in the area.

Phase 1, completed in Q1 2025, constructed a wet-bottom compartment that provides 80 acre-feet of stormwater storage capacity, or approximately 27 million gallons.
