County leaders unite to launch major effort to invest in the maintenance of flood control infrastructure
Harris County leaders are coming together to mark the start of construction on one of the County’s largest flood infrastructure maintenance efforts to date — the Addicks Channel Rehabilitation and Restoration project.
The Harris County Flood Control District, in collaboration with Harris County Precinct 3 and Precinct 4 commissioners, is getting to work on this $25 million, multi-year initiative to restore and strengthen 24 sites across the Addicks Reservoir watershed. This project is part of the Flood Control District’s increased investment in maintenance to preserve and strengthen our flood control infrastructure.
WHAT:
- Harris County leaders will kick off construction at the first site of the Addicks Channel Rehabilitation and Restoration project. Media will hear remarks from County leaders and see crews and heavy equipment in action as work officially gets underway.
