Reaffirming Our Commitment to Partnership Through the 2018 Bond Program

HOUSTON, TX – July 11, 2025 – The Harris County Flood Control District applauds Commissioners Court for their decisive action to double down on support for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding and secured partnership contributions, all of which advance the goal of delivering flood risk reduction through the 2018 Bond Program.

This reaffirmed commitment sends a powerful and unified message to our federal, state, and local partners. The continued investment in partnerships unlocks critical resources, extending the reach of taxpayer dollars and ensuring that vital projects serving our most vulnerable communities can move forward without delay.

Partnerships are not merely a component of the Flood Control District’s operations; they are the foundation. Collaboration with entities such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Texas Water Development Board, and the General Land Office has always been instrumental in improving quality of life across Harris County. As we look ahead, these partnerships will remain essential to addressing the needs of all Harris County residents.

We thank Commissioners Court for their leadership and continued vision. Together, with our partners and our communities, we will continue to improve quality of life in Harris County through effective flood risk reduction.
