Virtual Community Engagement Meeting for the Goose Creek Flood Risk Reduction Project

HCFCD UNIT O100-00-00-E003 – BOND PROJECT F-120 The Harris County Flood Control District will hold a virtual Community Engagement Meeting for the Goose Creek Flood Risk Reduction Project in the Spring Gully and Goose Creek watershed. The purpose of this meeting is to inform residents about the status of the project and share project information.

This project focuses on constructing the first phase of improvements with the goal of reducing the risk of flooding along Goose Creek. This project will be paid for with funds from the 2018 Bond Program which were approved by Harris County voters on August 25, 2018. Community engagement is an important component of the Bond Program, and we invite your participation as the program is implemented.

The meeting will begin with a brief presentation to share project updates, followed by a moderated Q&A session with Flood Control District team members. Residents will be able to submit questions and comments before, during and after the meeting and throughout the public comment period. Any comments not addressed during the Q&A session will receive a response at the conclusion of the public comment period.

Even if you are unable to attend the live meeting, residents are encouraged to register for the meeting to receive future project updates. A recorded version of the meeting will be available on the Flood Control District’s website and YouTube channel after the event. Meeting accommodations can be made for those with disabilities.
