Harris County Flood Control District Begins Expanded Submerged Vehicle Removal Project

A salvage contractor for the Harris County Flood Control District has begun work on a $218,255 project to remove submerged vehicles from Brays and Sims bayous. This is an expansion of a 2016 pilot project jointly funded by Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Jack Morman and the City of Houston.

Residents who appreciate meteorologist Jeff Lindner have created a GoFundMe account to “buy Jeff a vacation” for his work in calmly and consistently updating southeast Texas residents over the past week. After contacting the fan who started the account, Lindner thanked him for his kind gesture and decided to donate all funds to a charity helping flood victims.

Harris County Flood Control District Prepares for Heavy Rainfall

The Harris County Flood Control District with the Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management and the National Weather Service are monitoring a storm system that could potentially affect our area late Saturday into Sunday. The primary threat with this system is heavy rainfall and flash flooding for areas that have already seen rainfall this week. Updates will be issued as needed.
