While this work along Buffalo Bayou is not classified as a flood damage reduction project, the repairs are necessary to stabilize the channel and prevent further erosion and damage to the channel.

The total cost for these repairs is expected to be approximately $9.7 million and will be funded by grants from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). > Enlarge Phases Map

The project will be divided into seven separate phases along Buffalo Bayou to minimize disruption, while maintaining access to recreational amenities in the area. The project is expected to take approximately one year to complete.
