PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Z100-00-00-X280 is a collection of major maintenance projects in Northern Harris County that will repair various types of channel failures in different project areas within Greens Bayou and Brays Bayou watersheds.  The total cost for these channel repairs is expected to be approximately $2.4M. There will be heavy machinery near project sites and substantial vegetation removal operations may be needed in order to properly prepare the site for construction. For public safety reasons, trail users can expect intermittent closures as the projects progress. Please pay attention to posted signage in the project areas.

Projects that fall under Z100-00-00-X280 include:

Carpenters Bayou Watershed Repairs

Channel failures, like erosion or sinkholes, can occur naturally over time or may form quickly due to a storm event. These repairs are necessary to help stabilize the channel and prevent further impact to the stream.

In order to restore channel conveyance capacity to its original design, excavation may widen some channel sections beyond their current condition.

The project will consist of about 300 linear feet of drainage system repairs from Rockbrook St. to Anoka Street.

Greens Bayou Watershed Repairs

Channel failures, like erosion or sinkholes, can occur naturally over time or may form quickly due to a storm event. These repairs are necessary to help stabilize the channel and prevent further impact to the stream..

In order to restore channel conveyance capacity to its original design, excavation may widen some channel sections beyond their current condition.

The project will consist of about 4,802 linear feet of drainage system repairs including erosion, slope failures, and desilt from the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) to P130-00-00, Garners Bayou confluence.

Channel failures, like erosion or sinkholes, can occur naturally over time or may form quickly due to a storm event.
